A 28-year-old horse was rescued after getting stuck in a muddy ditch.
Ben, a 16.1 hand horse, got trapped in the ditch by Dorchester Road, Weymouth this morning. The Fire and Rescue Service was called to help at 11.03am.
Crews from Weymouth Fire Station and an animal rescue unit from Poole Fire Station came to help.
After Ben was mildly sedated, the crews used lines and strops to haul him back out of the ditch.
He was helped back onto his feet and returned safely to his owners.
