POLICE seized a large amount of suspected Class A drugs and cash in a stop and search operation.
A spokesman for Weymouth and Portland Police said that officers from its dedicated County Lines Team carried out an intelligence-led stop and search yesterday afternoon on Portland Road, Weymouth.
He said: "The detained male was searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act. A quantity of cash and substantial amount of suspected Class A drugs were seized.
"As a result, a 48 year old local male was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply and is currently in custody whilst our enquires continue."
