A DORSET based cancer charity are looking for daredevils to walk over hot coals to raise money for local families living with cancer this Bonfire Night.

The event, run by Wessex Cancer Trust, takes place outside Sandbanks Beach Café on Tuesday 5th November at 5.30pm.

After a full safety briefing, walkers will be led over ten metres of coals heated to 1200°F (648°C) by certified instructors from UK Firewalk.

Maria Tidy, Wessex Cancer Trust’s community engagement manager, said: “This is an adrenaline-fuelled event which requires an open mind and the determination to take up the challenge.

“All the money raised will go directly to providing free and local support to anyone living with cancer, so we wouldn’t want anyone to get cold feet! If you think you’re a good match for this, we’d love to hear from you.”

Bournemouth-based drumming band, Samba Panache, will heat up the atmosphere for the evening and, in a fitting finale, participants will have the opportunity to watch fireworks light up the night sky across Poole Bay after their walk.

Registration is £20 per person, or £35 for a pair, with a sponsorship goal of £80. For more information visit https://www.wessexcancer.org.uk/Event/firewalk-2019.
