SPORTS-MAD youngsters took part in a packed programme of activities over the half-term break.
Weymouth children shunned computer games and television in favour of dodge ball tournaments and a bouncy castle session.
The fun days, laid on by Weymouth Sports Club, were a big draw for youngsters from ages five to 12.
Some of the participants even had the chance to gain a new skill while getting fit.
The Redlands sports club offered a Cycling Phase I qualification, with a certificate of achievement going to everyone who completed it.
Also popular were basketball matches, rounders, bench ball games and a final fun day celebration on a bouncy castle.
Vicky Goodwin, the club's administrator, said the children's enthusiasm grew as the week progressed.
"At first the children and the parents were a bit hesitant about staying for the whole day, but they got really into it.
"They got so involved in all the team games and by the end of it they were all rooting for each other because they'd met new friends from different schools."
Mrs Goodwin added that the sessions were designed to encourage youngsters to take part in sport more regularly.
She said: "We run Saturday sports sessions for children and wanted the fun days to be a springboard for that."
