A JUDGE has granted time for further psychiatric assessment of a man who stabbed three teenage girls.
The sentencing of Ian Andrew Ruby, 19, formerly of Court Close, Bridport, was adjourned for 28 days but Judge Harvey Clark QC warned that this is likely to be the last time the court agrees to such a postponement.
Ruby, who has admitted three charges of wounding with intent over the knife attack in Bridport, will remain in Broadmoor psychiatric hospital. Judge Clark said: "I am happy to grant that but I do want to make it clear that the time is fast coming when a decision will have to be made with regard to Mr Ruby.
"This is a very serious matter resulting from events in August 2006 and the sooner the court is in a position to pass his sentence, whatever that may be, the better." He added: "A further 28 days, as far as I'm concerned, should be the final extension granted."
