FROME Valley Parish Council has welcomed a proposal for five holiday homes on the site of redundant farm buildings at Lower Wraxall Farm near Dorchester.
The application includes community space and an ‘educational farm area’ and is expected to create five full and part-time jobs.
The parish council says the scheme will see the renovation of buildings in a way which is sympathetic to the area and welcomes what it describes as “a consideration for sustainability and environmental impact.”
But it suggests that the proposed new road access to the south, close to the apex of a bend, may need modification to improve visibility.
Another letter welcomes the intention to sink a borehole for the holiday homes to prevent any further demands on the existing water distribution network which can suffer from low occassional low pressure.
A decision is expected to be made by a planning officer under delegated powers. Public comments on the application have now closed.
