A MAN who escaped a life of crime will give a talk about how God changed his life.

Lennox Rodgers will visit The Storehouse Church in Dorchester.

He will be speaking about his book Breaking Better, a true story of his life in and out of crime.

Mr Rodgers formerly operated in the criminal underworld in London and Oxford.

He has been a drug dealer, an enforcer and an armed robber, and has spent time in various prisons across the UK, including HM Prison Dartmoor.

Mr Rodgers will be talking about how he discovered God, who transformed his life.

He is regularly invited to comment on the issues of gang culture, knife crime, prison, reform and youth rehabilitation by the BBC, ITN and Sky News.

Mr Rodgers was invited to talk at the church by Pastor Mark Topp, who used to live in London and was once a member of the same church as him.

Mr Topp said: “It’s an incredible story how his life was transformed by God.

“At one time we went to the same church, but I didn’t know all the details until I read his book.

“He will talk about how he changed his life from what it was to what he’s doing now.

“He works with gangs and young people trying to help them out of the life he was once knew because he knows from his own experience, where it leads.

Mr Topp added: “The big worry in Dorset is county lines gangs moving to the area and taking advantage of vulnerable people – he knows all about that.

“We might not realise it, but it’s going on, so if there are any children or parents who are worried, he can give a great insight into what you need to look out for.

“He’s very informative and knowledgeable.”

Mr Rodgers will be speaking at the church on Saturday, October 19 at 6.30pm.

The event is free to attend and everyone is welcome to come along.

There is no need to book your place, you just need to turn up on the night.
