Police are investigating reports that an 11-year-old boy was assaulted by a gang of youths during an unprovoked attack.
The boy was left with bruising and scratches as a result of the assault, alleged to have been carried out by a group of five teenagers.
In a statement, Bridport Police said the incident happened at the junction of St Andrews Road and Sea Road North at 4pm on Thursday October 10.
The youths responsible are described as being white males aged 16-18 years, although one of them had a darker skin tone. All were riding mountain bikes.
A spokesman for Bridport Police said: "If you witnessed this incident, or have any information that could assist the investigation, please call 101 and quote incident number 55190160349, or alternatively via the Dorset Police website."
