FIVE homes could be built off Station Road at West Bay, east of the existing last property on the road.

A planning application to Dorset Council also asks for a new access and site landscaping for a site just beyond Fairways.

Comments on the proposal, which is expected to be decided by a planning officer under delegated powers remain open until October 29th.

An outline application already exists for four homes although the site is outside the development boundary of the area.

Each of the proposed new homes would be four-bed with an integral garage varying in size from 185 square metres to 254 square metres, partially built into the rising ground to the south of the site.

The application says natural stone would be used for the base of the buildings with render and natural timber cladding for the upper walls, with the roofs would be clad in slate.

Said architectural and building consultants, Robbie Roskell, for the applicants Mr and Mrs P Osbourne: “The proposed scheme for five dwellings produces an attractive entrance to West Bay and an efficient use of the land for residential purposes.

The development will have limited visual impact on both the Conservation area and the visual character of the protected landscape.”
