DOES the present flag of the county of Dorset truly represent Dorset?
Does it show what the county stands for?
I don’t know about anybody else but all l see in the flag is sand and even more sand; it’s as if the originator considers Dorset to be a desert...which it certainly is not.
Why Saxon, and why should a short Saxon woman be made the Saint of Dorset?
Did she save Dorset from dragons? I think not.
The present flag of Dorset shows nothing of Dorset or what is good about Dorset, all that is visible is sand.
And a white cross outlined in red.
Where is the goodness that Dorset holds and the views that brings the visitors to beautiful Dorset?
I was born in Weymouth, way back in 1952 at Portway hospital, and I still consider Weymouth my home even though I don’t live there anymore.
Dorset will always be my county. Plans have been made, or are being made, for me to be buried in my home town in the county of Dorset. I wonder if the citizens of Dorset have ever stopped to think about the sand flag that represents their beautiful county? I know it’s far more beautiful than the flag shows it to be. Have they or you ever given it any thought? The county of Dorset...a desert! That’s what the flag shows to me. It does not represent the true Dorset.
I have a couple of designs but l have noticed that l cannot add an image of my designs. My designs would put a different light on what is flying now.
