Would you dare take on a horde of flesh-devouring zombies? No? Well, what if it was for charity?

Following the success of last year’s event, ‘Nothe of the Living Dead’ will return this month to terrify visitors at the Nothe Fort in Weymouth on October 25-26.

The event is described as a fusion between the Walking Dead and the Crystal Maze. Participants must battle their way through a web of tunnels which will be infested with ‘zombies’. Along the way each person must overcome a series of physical and mental challenges to collect the ‘vaccines’ required to secure their rescue at the end of the tunnel. Fail and they become the main course in a zombie nosh-up!

Nothe of the Living Dead is a collaboration between local charities the Nothe Fort and Island Community Action (ICA), and is supported by Bored 2 Board Gaming (B2B). Pengillys Solicitors are official sponsors for the event.

Steven Booth, Nothe Fort’s Marketing Manager, said: “Following the success of last year’s event we are delighted to host this out-of-this-world experience for a second time.

“With a history of paranormal activity and a labyrinth of spooky underground passageways, Nothe Fort is the perfect venue to pull out all the stops and deliver a truly terrifying experience.

“We enjoyed working with our partners to create this special Halloween experience which is like no other in a venue so infamous for ghosts, ghouls and of course zombies. However, we must not forget the primary purpose of raising much-needed revenue for two worthwhile charities.”

Kim Wilcocks, CEO for Island Community Action said: “Working with the Nothe Fort and Bored 2 Board Gaming last year was a real joy. Not only did we receive positive reviews, we also raised funds for two great local causes.

“This year, supported by a fantastic group of volunteers, many of whom have come back for a second year, we’ve gone even bigger. If you’re a fan of Halloween, Nothe of the Living Dead will provide the perfect start to your celebrations. Honestly, I know exactly what’s happening and where and I still end up screaming.”

Emma Mason, Bored 2 Board’s Director, said: “We really like the fact that this event plunges participants into a fully immersive experience, rather than simply scaring them to death. Last year people loved the mix of horror and challenge, so we’ve tried to up the fear factor and the laughs in equal measures for 2019. The question is, are you lot out there up for the challenge?”
