A crew attended reports of a possible fire underground
FIREFIGHTERS were alerted to reports of a possible underground fire.
They were called to South Walks Road just before 4am on Saturday.
A spokesman for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "A crew from Dorchester attended a report of smoke issuing from a manhole cover in South Walks Road.
"On arrival they confirmed this was an electrical manhole cover and requested the attendance of the electricity board.
"They remained on scene until the arrival of an engineer and handed the incident over."
