I WAS astounded by an article about the number of flights a day taking place at U.K. airports.
A 13.5% increase in eight years since 2010 when two million a year flights were made, last year 2.27 took place and that equates to 6,200 a day!
The article highlighted noise pollution near airports but what concerns me and I’m sure many others is air pollution all around the world but ministers and business leaders insist that more runways are needed to boost the economy.
The way things are going with regards to pollution that many that have a vested interest are in denial over the fact that aircraft has any influence on air pollution need to think again and think of the legacy that is being handed to the young of the world and as for the “need to boost economy”, there won’t be any need for it as we will all be dead and gone.
