THE piece of self-congratulatory text from Sir Oliver Lewin cannot disguise his manoeuvres over the Prime Minister’s Brexit deal.

First he says he will vote for it and then tables an amendment designed to further delay the moment of decision.

This, of course, is in line with all his and the other remainer’s plotting to continually frustrate and delay Brexit in the hope that we will all get tired and give up. I don’t suppose that he ever bothers to read ordinary people’s letters in your pages and, even if he does, it would take more than my efforts to penetrate his self-satisfaction.But he and the other remainers can’t avoid the reckoning forever; when at last the election comes they will face the full anger of a frustrated electorate and be swept into the dustbin of history.
