A MAJOR search was carried out along the cliffs on Portland to try and find a 'high-risk' missing person.
The police helicopter was scrambled around 6pm yesterday to help in the search.
Police officers were joined by Dorset Search and Rescue personnel on the ground as they scoured the area around West Cliff.
The person was later found safe and well.
A spokesman for Weymouth and Portland Police said: "We assisted with a high-risk missing person search on Portland
"They have since been located safe and well following an extensive area search involving NPAS and Dorset Search and Rescue."
