One person was cut free from their car after a three-vehicle crash.

Emergency services were called to the incident on the A351 near Corfe Castle, which involved a Citreon Picasso, a Land Rover and a Nissan Note, Dorset Police said.
The road was closed between the B3075 Corfe Road (Stoborough) and Soldiers Road (Norden).

Two fire crews from Swanage attended alongside police and ambulance personnel.

The occupants of two of the vehicles received minor injuries while the driver of the third vehicle had to be cut free by firefighters.

The casualty was taken to hospital for treatment with serious injuries following the incident around 6pm last night.

The road was later reopened.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "We were called at 5.52pm yesterday, Wednesday October 23, to a report of a three vehicle collision on the A351 between Furzebrook and the Halfway Inn. "The collision involved a Citreon Picasso, a Land Rover and a Nissan Note.

"Emergency services attended the scene and the road was closed.

"The driver of the Citreon was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The road reopened at 9.10pm."
