The popular Bonfire by the Beach returns tonight with live music, fireworks and a fair.

The event will take place on East Beach car park at West Bay from 5pm.

The event is still due to go ahead, with rain expected to stop later this afternoon.

An outside bar and food will be available from 5pm to 9pm, with the bonfire lit and a Guy competition at 6pm. The fireworks display will take place at 8pm and visitors can enjoy live music from 6pm to 9pm and a fun fair.

A free shuttle bus will run between Bridport bus station and West Bay from 5pm until 9.30pm.

The event is free, but donations for local causes and charities will be gratefully received.

Following the event, a beach clean is scheduled for East Beach on Sunday from 10am to 12noon. Volunteers are asked to meet outside the Watch House Café and bring gloves, bags and pickers if they have them.
