I AM very sorry that Sir Oliver Letwin has decided not to put himself forward as a Parliamentary candidate in the next general election.

My reason for this is because the electorate of West Dorset who voted to leave in the EU referendum will be cheated of the opportunity to convey their contempt for his behaviour in seeking to delay and ultimately to prevent the democratic vote of the people of this country being enacted.

Because he has achieved his knighthood and is no longer likely to have any public future, he was a simple choice to be put forward as the focal point of this act of treachery.

He will, however, have to live with the certain knowledge that he will never be forgiven for betraying his constituents in West Dorset as the final act and legacy of his political career.
