The Nothe Fort has teamed up with Piddle Brewery to host its first Beer and Music Festival, with all money raised going towards the Poppy Appeal and Royal British Legion.

This inaugural not-for-profit event will be held in the atmospheric grounds of Nothe Fort on Saturday, November 9, from 12pm until late. Local beers will be sold alongside Bratwurst and wood-fired pizzas, with musical performances and artillery displays keeping guests entertained.

Steve Booth, marketing manager at the Nothe Fort, said: "This is the first time we have ever hosted a beer festival, but after a chat with Jon from Piddle Brewery, we were convinced. To be able to make this into a fundraising event for the Poppy Appeal is very poignant at this time of year. It also helps if you like beer, especially real ale. Along with entertainment and hot food to soak up the drinks, a good time will be guaranteed. This is like an early Christmas party at our fantastic attraction and best of all, we have no neighbours, so come along and enjoy!"

Piddle Brewery, based in Piddlehinton, has been working to brew two real ales specially for Nothe Fort; Whistling Gunner and Sappers Courage will both be for sale at the festival, alongside a selection of other brewed delights. As the largest Bratwurst retailer in the UK, street food stall Top Gun Catering will also be on hand to satisfy hunger cues.

Musical entertainment will be provided by a range of talented artists, including Joocy Loops, a duo bringing to life a selection of the best tunes from the 1930s to the present day, and Tim Fawkes, acoustic singer-songwriter and lead vocalist with local band, Modern Disciples.

Further enjoyment can be had at the hands of Nothe Fort Artillery, who will be performing firing displays and cannon drills throughout the day.

The Poppy Appeal is the Royal British Legion's biggest fundraising campaign, each year raising thousands of pounds to help support serving and ex-serving members of the Armed Forces community and their families.

Tickets to the Beer and Music Festival at Nothe Fort are £10 for adults and £2 for children, available from the Nothe Fort website or by calling 01305 766626.
