A NEW pub could soon revive an empty space on Weymouth's high street.
The building at 62 St Thomas Street - formerly the site of Retina nightclub - is the subject of a planning application from Marstons Brewery for new signage for a premises called 'The River Wey'.
Artist impressions of new signage for the building were reviewed by Weymouth Town Council's planning and licensing committee in a meeting.
The Grade II listed building is situated next to Tesco.
Previously the premises traded as Level Z; Dolce Vita; Que Pasa and The Toad at The BanK.
Members of the planning and licensing committee unanimously agreed with the proposals for the new signage. The planning application is for one illuminated sign, two amenity board signs and one chalk board sign.
The final decision is to be made by Dorset Council.
