DORSET drivers could do more to help tackle climate change, tackle pollution and improve the health of children.
Cllr Ray Bryan, who leads the Dorset Council’s climate change programme, says he was shocked to see how many parents left their car engines running while waiting to pick up their children. He says he witnessed many drivers not switch off while visiting a Sherborne school with local councillor Matt Hall.
“It was not just how they were parking but many were leaving their engines running which must be a danger to their own children,” said Cllr Bryan, “We have to get more people to turn their engines off when they are waiting.”
