The Weymouth-Waterloo railway line is blocked due to a signalling problem.
A power issue at Bournemouth means trains are unable to proceed and will be held at a red signal.
South Western Railway is warning that services running through the station may be delayed or revised, with disruption expected until 8pm today.
An SWR spokesman said: "We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey."
