LONGTHORNS Farm has been awarded Gold in the David Bellamy Conservation Awards.
The working farm and campsite is situated in the picturesque heart of Dorset along the Jurassic coast, next to Monkey World and close to the Tank Museum.
Its aim is to provide quality camping whilst respecting nature.
Owner of Longthorns Farm Sally Mead said: “Planting wild flowers and leaving areas for the bees to prosper has also encouraged other insects, such as butterflies, to increase in numbers.”
The ethos of the farm focuses on sustainability and being able to reuse and recycle as much as possible, as shown by their recycled, reclaimed or recyclable products.
This includes the exterior of the shower block which is made from recycled plastic coat hangers.
