Coastguards were called out after a dive vessel suffered a steering failure.
The incident happened just after midday.
A spokesman for Portland Bill Coastguard said: “The team was tasked to Castletown to meet Skin Deep Dive vessel, which had towed in another dive vessel with steering failure.
“All persons on board were found to be safe and well.
“Details of the incident have been forwarded to National Maritime Operations Centre.”
The team then returned to the station.
