A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of carrying drugs, assaulting a police officer and stopping a drugs search.
Police officers from Dorset Police’s County Lines Management Team were called at 3.55pm on Tuesday, November 5 to Radipole Park Gardens in Weymouth.
They were tasked with conducting a stop check of a young person as a result of suspected drug-related activity in the area.
It is claimed that the young person evaded police and in doing so assaulted an officer causing minor injuries.
It is also alleged that a foot chase followed, before the young person was detained by police for a search.
A small amount of suspected Class A drugs and cash was found during the search.
A 16-year-old male from Bournemouth was arrested on suspicion of possession of controlled drugs, assaulting an emergency worker and obstructing a drugs search.
He has been released under investigation whilst enquiries continue.
