A consultation has started on reducing admission number to three schools by a third.
At Manor Park First School in Dorchester and Holy Trinity Primary school in Weymouth, the plan is to reduce admission numbers from 90 to 60 in both cases. At St Mary’s First School, Charminster the proposal is for a reduction from 42 to 30.
Dorset Council say the change is to more accurately reflect the actual numbers which helps the governing bodies to plan more effectively for organisational and budgetary needs.
The full proposals can be seen online by searching for ‘find a consultation’ on the Dorset for You website with comments, either for or against, to the email schoolorganisation@dorsetcouncil.gov.uk or by post to School Organisation, County Hall, Dorchester.
Comments on the proposed changes remain open until Friday November 22.
