A teapot sold for an astounding £1million, including buyer's premium, at auction.
After frenzied bidding Lee Young brought the hammer down on a telephone bid of £800,000 to loud applause at Duke's in Dorchester yesterday.
With buyer's premium the sale price hit £1million.
The 'fine and rare celadon-glaze, pear-shaped teapot with Qianlong seal mark' attracted bidding from around the world at Duke's Asian art sale.
Earlier a jade meerkat figure with an estimate of £200-£300 sold for £50,000.
And an intricate boxwood carving sold for £185,000.
