ANYONE interested in finding out more about the Weymouth Quay Regeneration Project is invited to an open information session at the library.
Taking place on Monday November 18 from 2pm until 7pm, the session is an opportunity for harbour users and the wider public to view the proposals and give feedback.
The plans are still in the early stages but an architect has now been appointed by Dorset Council to take the project forward.
So far a new multi-purpose harbour building is proposed, which would include office space, a café and facilities for boat crews and the Harbour Authority, as well as training facilities to attract students from the marine industries.
Improved harbour facilities are also proposed, including new pontoons and fishing improvements.
The project also aims to attract more visitors to the area with a pedestrian walkway around the peninsula.
Cllr Gary Suttle, Dorset Council portfolio holder for Economic Development said: “We want the project to deliver a huge improvement to the quay in the long term.
“To do this we know we need to engage with local people, specifically harbour users.
“I urge anyone with an interest in the outcome of this project to come along to the engagement sessions.”
