Wycombe Wanderers manager Gareth Ainsworth said there’s "more to come" from Nnamdi Ofoborh after he scored a stunning goal in Wycombe’s 2-1 EFL Trophy win against MK Dons on Tuesday night.

The goal was the 20-year-old Cherries loanee's first in the professional game.

Ainsworth told the Wycombe website: “Nnamdi scored a terrific goal and there’s plenty more to come from him.”

The Nigerian came on to a loose ball on the edge of the box and rattled a first-time half volley into the roof of the net before the MK Dons goalkeeper could react.

Taking to Twitter, Ofoborh wrote: “first professional goal, big three points, a late birthday present from me to me.”

Elsewhere, Mikael Ndjoli played 90 minutes in Gillingham’s 2-0 win over Tottenham’s under-21s.

Kyle Taylor also played 90 minutes for Forest Green Rovers as they lost 6-0 against Walsall.

On Sunday, goalkeeper Asmir Begovic helped Qarabag draw 1-1 against Ziba in the Azerbaijan Premier League.

Jermain Defoe came off the bench to help Rangers overcome Livingston 2-0 in the Scottish Premiership.

Sam Surridge also came off the bench for Swansea on Saturday, as they were pegged back to a 2-2 draw at Sheffield Wednesday in the 94th minute.

Surridge picked up a knee injury in the Championship fixture which has forced him to withdraw from the England under-21s squad for the upcoming international fixtures.
