CHERRIES goalkeeper Mark Travers earned his second Republic of Ireland cap as they beat New Zealand 3-1 in a friendly yesterday.

Travers started as a substitute but came on after 66 minutes when the score was 2-1 and helped keep New Zealand at bay for the remainder of the match.

Gavin Kilkenny started for Republic of Ireland under-21s in their Euro 2021 qualifier in Armenia.

The Cherries youngster played 81 minutes in their 1-0 win which kept them top of their qualifying group.

Brad Smith, fresh from his MLS cup triumph, played 90 minutes and helped keep a clean sheet for Australia in their World Cup qualifier in Jordan.
