Residents can find out more about the Weymouth Quay Regeneration Project today.

The project will see a new building and improved facilities provided at the harbour. The aim is to transform a brownfield site into a space of economic regeneration.

Dorset Council recently appointed architects Austin-Smith:Lord so the details can be drawn up.

A public drop in session will take place today at Weymouth Library from 2pm until 7pm.

The team will talk people through the initial concept drawing for the scheme. They will also show the timeline of the project which aims to transform a redundant quayside area.

The project aims to sustain and create jobs in Weymouth by

  • Delivering a harbour ‘centre of excellence’ building for small-medium enterprises
  • Improving the harbour’s facilities
  • Increasing visitor numbers to the area

Karyn Punchard, Dorset Council Corporate Director for Place Services, said: “This is a great opportunity for people to find out about the Weymouth Quay Regeneration Project and to give their views on the scheme.

“Anyone with an interest in the outcome of this project should come along to the event.”
