POLICE are hunting a hit-and-run driver who seriously injured a pedestrian.

Officers in west Dorset are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

Police received a report of a man walking in the road on the A35 at Askerswell at 5.45am on Monday, November 11. Officers attended and located the man – aged in his 30s and from Devon - who reported he had been involved in a collision. He was taken to hospital for treatment to a broken arm.

PC Rebecca Barnes, of Bridport police, said: β€œThe man reported being hit by a dark-coloured car that did not stop at the scene. I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or have relevant dashcam footage of the incident, to come forward.”
