An existing corner home in Rodwell Road, Weymouth could be demolished and replaced with six apartments.

Applicant Chris Wearing says he would like to demolish the existing detached home and put up a block of six two-bed flats.

The consent also asked for the addition of three car park spaces to bring the number to five, including one disability space.

The revised planning application follows three previously refused applications at the site and three dismissed appeals since 2016.

An agent for Mr Wearing says that the only outstanding issue remains the relationship between the proposed apartments and the neighbour to the east, in Rodwell Avenue, over the potential for overlooking and loss of privacy.

It suggests that this may be overcome by raising the height of the walls outside the first and second floor terraces and adding planters to them with some minor alterations to the apartments.

The application is open for public and statutory comments until Christmas Eve and is expected to be decided by a Dorset Council planning officer.
