WE READ an article in the Dorset Echo whereby Mark Reddy from First Wessex bus company in Weymouth, said there was free bus travel for all veterans attending the remembrance service in Weymouth last Sunday week, November 10.
What really was the point in offering that gesture when in fact 99.5 per cent of veterans in and around the Weymouth area live in Chickerell, Westham, Preston, and Sutton Poyntz where there were no buses running on that Sunday?
We actually messaged Mark Reddy and he replied that it is now a winter service timetable and that it could not be changed.
Mark Reddy, why offer something that is not available to any of us?
If you decide to offer the same free travel next year then please make sure there is an adequate bus service to accommodate everyone.
Weymouth is a lot bigger than just Portland and Littlemoor.
