A MAN was trapped in a car at the Bakers Arms roundabout following a vehicle collision this morning.

A spokesman for Dorset & Wilts Fire said: "Two pumps from Poole and a flexi duty officer were mobilised to a report of a road traffic collision at the Bakers Arms Roundabout in Upton, Poole at 4.37am.

"On arrival the crews found that a single vehicle had left the highway and collided with a tree. One male casualty was physically trapped in the vehicle. Crews undertook casualty care whilst awaiting for the arrival of the ambulance.

"After liaising with paramedics, crews used hydraulic rescue equipment to remove the roof and undertake a dashboard roll. The driver was released from the vehicle and left in care of the paramedics."
