Residents are reminded there is a consultation event today about the future of Tumbledown Farm near Southill.

Weymouth Town Council plans to develop the site for community use and is seeking ideas and feedback.

An event will take place at Emmanuel Church, Southill from 11am-1pm.

The project is in its early stages, with a working group set up which includes councillors and officers from Weymouth Town Council and Dorset Council.

Current ideas for the future of the site include a community petting farm, environmental education centre, allotments and a Men’s Shed.

The council says the consultation event is an opportunity for residents to put forward their ideas and meet members of the working group.

Children are also welcome at this event and there will be child-friendly activities to keep the little ones occupied.

Mayor of Weymouth Graham Winter, said: “Tumbledown Farm has the potential to become an invaluable community asset and it’s important that local residents get a chance to have their say on how this site should be used.

"We hope to get the site in use as soon as possible and we want the whole community to benefit from this asset.”

“Please come along and get involved with this fantastic project.”
