A dog was rescued by a coastguard team on Portland after it was stranded on a beach.
The Portland Bill Coastguard Rescue Team was sent to West Weares on the isle to find and rescue a small Jack Russell from the banks there at about 11.30am today.
The dog was spotted by a member of the public but was unable to get to it due to the terrain.
A spokesman for the CRT said: "The dog is currently safe and well at our station, we are currently trying to locate the owner."
In an update today the team said: "Jackson the Jack Russell has been reunited with his owners, thank you all for sharing our previous post."
