POLICE are appealing for witnesses after thieves fraudulently used a bank card to buy goods in Weymouth.
Weymouth police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident, after a woman reported losing her bank card after boarding a train at Upwey station, travelling to Weymouth.
After contacting her bank, the woman, aged in her 30s, discovered that five transactions has been carried out at various stores in Weymouth in the space of an hour, totalling more than £110, police said.
The incident took place on Wednesday November 27. The transactions were made between 4pm and 5pm the same day.
Police Constable Tim Beckwith, of Weymouth police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this matter and have obtained CCTV images showing a man who is believed to have used the card at one of the locations in Weymouth.
“I would urge anyone with information as to his identity to please contact us.”
