LIGHTS, camera and...action – the theme of next year’s Camp Bestival has been announced.

The family-friendly festival held at Lulworth Castle in Dorset is set for another fantastic year as festivalgoers ‘go to the movies’

Organisers plan to capture the suspense and drama of the silver screen as the festival recreates the glamour of Hollywood.

Camp Bestival curator Rob da Bank said: “The magic of the cinema, the escapism of glamour Hollywood, the tension of sci-fi, the make-up, the music, the hair!

"We all love going to the movies and watching films with our kids, so why not do it live in a field in 2020?

!We have some stunning installations for you and some once in a lifetime memory makes…step right this way!”

With the theme in mind, Camp Bestival will install a brand-new open-air cinema, AV shows featuring well-loved cult classics remixed by DJs, as well as, sing-along movie nights, acting workshops, meet the screenwriter sessions, and movie-related guests.

The news marks the first announcement for Camp Bestival 2020, with an action-packed line-up due to be announced early next year.

Last year saw Lewis Capaldi, Jess Glynn, Nile Rodgers and Chic take to the stage, as well as The Human League.

The theme last year was Heroes vs Superheroes.

Jess Glynne joined in the fun and stepped out dressed as her hero and music legend, Cher.

Organisers say more than 50 per cent of tickets have already been sold for next year’s event, which will take place from Thursday, July 30 to August 2.

People who order tickets before Tuesday, December 10 will be given limited edition Camp Bestival 2020 iron-on patches for their children.

They will also receive a Camp Bestival Christmas card in time for the big day, as well as an illustrated line-up print early next year when the first acts are announced.
