FIRE crews have been battling a blaze that started in a bedroom at a house in Abbotsbury.

One crew from Dorchester and one from Weymouth attended the incident.

A spokesman from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "We got the call at 10.48am to reports of a property fire on West Street, Abbotsbury.

"The fire was contained to a bedroom on the first floor of the property and was extinguished by two breathing apparatus wearers using one hose reel jet."

Following the incident, the fire service said that there were no casualties to report, and a cause of the fire had not been established.
