With regard to the demonstrations against climate change by schoolchildren. I appreciate that being of mature age I am not young enough to know everything.

However, I cannot see the point of such demonstrations.

Surely the teaching profession would tell these children that, action speaks louder than words, and maybe give these children some guidance as to how they can help and gain credibility?

After all, they are the main constituents of the consumer society, so why not teach them to set an example, just by having a walk to school week even in a small town like Weymouth, that would save tons of carbon emissions.

There are of course many other ways these children could contribute, so please teach them in a balanced way, and make them aware that anyone can demonstrate - the wise take actions.

Furthermore ask the children, in considering that the cause of global warming are the actions of human beings, what good is demonstrating without actually doing something yourselves?

The ploy of using children for political purposes de-values the whole issue in the eyes of many thinking people.
