AFC BOURNEMOUTH Chairman Jeff Mostyn has encouraged people to don a festive jumper to help Dorset families coping with cancer this Christmas.

Jeff is a patron of Dorset Cancer Care Foundation (DCCF), which gives financial assistance to local people going through cancer treatment or living with a long-term cancer diagnosis.

He said: “We are hoping local businesses, sports teams, school children, groups of friends and even families will get together, don their Christmas jumpers and make a donation to DCCF, knowing that every penny will go to a local family facing cancer this festive season.”

DCCF awards cash grants to people for everything from accommodation costs, to specialist equipment and respite breaks.

Jeff added: “Living with cancer is hard enough, without worrying about paying the bills.

“All the money raised by DCCF through Christmas jumpers this year will be given to families to pay for Christmas gifts and groceries.

“We hope people will get out their sweaters, have fun and take pride in the fact that they are really helping families living in their own community.”

If you would like to hold a Christmas jumper day in aid of Dorset Cancer Care Foundation please email admin@dccf.co.uk to donate and take part.

The charity will also be sending out a photographer to some of the participating groups and their pictures will be shared on the charity’s social media.
