MAGICAL lighting combined with traditions old and new are being offered at Corfe Castle in the run-up to Christmas.

Visitors can go on a medieval Christmas adventure with the Lord of Misrule, with the traditional trickster leading a merry dance to discover games and stories from long ago that still resonate today.

There are events for day-time and for the evening where the castle will be transformed by fire and floodlights as part of ‘Winter Lights’, where beacons, braziers and lighting effects will provide a treat for the senses.

On December 8 and 13 visitors can join local choirs for Christmas carols and special hot chocolates, hot fruit punch, mulled wine, mince pies, gingerbread men and a Christmas cream tea of the month are available from the tea-room.
