A KIND accountancy firm is helping the Dorset Echo make sure children from poor families have a happy Christmas.

Albert Goodman, chartered accountants in Dorset and Somerset, has supported the Echo’s Christmas Toy Appeal again this year with a £100 donation.

The firm is a long standing supporter of the appeal, and this year they have come up trumps again.

Sadly, for a number of reasons, there are families who can’t give their children the Christmas they deserve.

The Dorset Echo Christmas Toy Appeal was founded 20 years ago to help buy presents for Dorset’s underprivileged youngsters so that they have something to unwrap on Christmas morning.

Every penny that is donated is spent on toys to make sure they have a special day.

Robin Clempson of Albert Goodman said: “We have historically sponsored or volunteered as part of the Echo’s Christmas Toy Appeal and we are very pleased to do so again.

“For 20 years the Dorset Echo has run this fantastic campaign which puts a smile on the face of children in need in the area over the Christmas period.

“We feel it’s really important that local businesses give something back to the communities in which they are based and this is a great way to do that.”

More businesses are now being called on to step forward and help donate.

Fewer donations have been coming in this year. Residents can also donate toys to collection bins at a variety of stores in the area.
