Hi readers, it’s Emily and William here, on a dark voting wet December night, thinking about some of the fantastic Christmas parties we’ve had so far.

First, we went to the North Dorset Friendship Club Christmas meal and disco at Folke Golf Club. It was really nice to catch up with our friends, who we haven’t seen for some time. We had a delicious meal, served by People First Dorset staff who wore matching red dresses – not the men! After a visit from Santa, we enjoyed a Christmas boogie with loads of great music, laughter and fun. Some people sang karaoke and the DJ’s even made our manager spin the decks – we all enjoyed listening to her do that!

The next party was this week in Weymouth at the New Vic, after our volunteers thank you party (where we consumed some nice cheese!). Another fabulous disco but stealing the night were two special guests from Disneyland – Micky and Minnie Mouse in Christmas outfits. We all loved seeing them and there were lots of high fives, hugs and photos taken. They were brilliant!

And there is still one more Christmas party, at the Junction hotel in Dorchester, which as you read will be tonight! We are looking forward to another meal and getting on that dance floor. We are looking forward to seeing Simon the DJ, our friends and staff at the Junction, who we know well now.

Of course, by the time this goes to press, we’ll have a new party running the country. Whoever it is, we hope they do a good job. We’re going to write about politics now, so do tune in next week to read our thoughts on that!
