A man arrested in connection with a number of reported burglaries in Shaftesbury has been charged and appeared in court.

Three burglaries were reported to have happened between Sunday 15 November and Tuesday 17 November 2019 in the Shaftesbury area.

At 3.50pm on Sunday 15 December 2019 a reported burglary occurred at the Spar store in Mampitts Lane, with keys stolen from a storage area.

Just after 7am on Monday 16 December 2019 Dorset Police received a report of a burglary at an address in Gower Road. It was reported that during the previous night entry had been gained to the property and Christmas presents were taken from under the tree. Other items were also reported stolen from the address.

At 6.30am on Tuesday 17 December 2019 a further burglary was reported at Shortedge in Sturminster Newton, with a number of items stolen from the property.

A 30-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and has since been charged with three counts of burglary in connection with these incidents. He appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 18 December 2019 and remanded in custody for another court appearance to be fixed.
