BRIDPORT Reserves’ boss Shaun Annetts believes his young side have a golden chance to beat Holt United in their Dorset Premier League battle at St Mary’s Field on Saturday (3pm).
Annetts, who has been nursing a heavy cold, is expected to utilise a small number of first-teamers against the Bulls.
And a wider pool of players to choose from has left Annetts in positive mood going into the clash.
He told the Bridport News: “I don’t believe there’s a first-team fixture on Saturday and I’m quite confident that Jamie (Manley, boss) will want to ask two or three of his lads to boost my squad.
“All in all, I’m looking forward to it providing the pitch and the weather’s kind to us.
“On Saturday we stand as good a chance as we’re ever going to of trying to get a result.”
Riley Weedon will serve the final match of his ban for a red card, while Josh Hunter (foot) remains out.
Defender Dane James is available, as is Lewis Gray after returning from university. Brothers Michael and James Hill could make their debuts after impressing in training.
Elsewhere, Waytown Hounds warmed up for Saturday’s Perry Street and District League Division One Cup final against Hawkchurch with a fine 5-2 victory over South Petherton Reserves.
Jon Legg bagged a brace to add to Zak Hawker, Kieran Mulhall and Tom Rutland strikes as Hounds came back from 2-0 down.
