Today's letter writer wants to scrap the Police Crime Commissioner.
THE Echo carried the story that our Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) is asking council tax payers for a £1.25 precept to pay for more officers.
I have a better idea. Why not scrap the PCC’s office and use that money instead? It would be of much better value.
I’m sure I speak for a lot of people when I say that I don’t mind paying for extra police officers, but I do mind funding what is little more than a quango.
