A CHICKERELL care home has been given permission for a 13-bed extension.
The planning consent from Dorset Council for Queen Charlotte Care Home includes an increase in parking from 10 to 23 spaces and the conversion of outbuildings to offices, stores and staff accommodation.
The Chickerell Road home application attracted two objections, over fears of parking in surrounding roads and increased traffic in the area.
Chickerell town council had recommended approval of the scheme.
An external toilet and washroom, built around 1950 and part of a listed building, will be demolished as part of the scheme.
The company say the extension has been designed to fit in with the existing buildings, making better use of the outbuildings.
