This power plant is supposed to be a ‘green’ answer to waste and landfill.
As someone has pointed out we are supposed to be reducing our waste, so by the time this plant is built it could be nearly redundant.
And, as someone else has said we would need the western route to help the transport of the waste to Portland.
How can the building of a main road along the edge of the Fleet – an international site, an SSSI and AONB – be considered a ‘green’ alternative?
Even the number of lorries using the causeway , on which they would probably be backed up and causing huge pollution, would damage the water and air of Portland harbour and Chesil bank, along with the wildlife using the area.
